Snapped! Get Your Plane Right on Time

Welcome to a new, informal series of posts here at i b i k e l o n d o n; 'Snapped!', bringing you the best in blogs and photography with a cycling bent...

This amazing snap comes courtesy of the fabulous 'Get your plane right on time' street style and photography blog.  It was taken on Brick Lane (just down from the beigal shop if I guess correctly) and is pretty typical of the area where I live; this is just a minute down the road from me.

What I like about it of course is that it shows someone riding a bike in London AND looking fabulous (just to be clear; this isn't some kind of set up fashion shoot but a street style snap of an everyday and orindary passer by - who just happens to have a killer outfit on.)

The little tote bag that you can just see behind her on the bike's pannier rack is from Broadway Market, which has an amazing cycling culture and which I've written about here before.

Incidently, I have a wreck of a bike just like hers up on my roof terrace which I really should get round to restoring sometime soon...

A woman with no less than three small kids on a cycle trailer on the way to school in Chelsea made my morning. Mind you, so did the fabulous-looking woman cyclist with fashion boots and beret in Streatham. Pity I was in a bit of a rush...

You'll have to start carrying your camera everywhere with you Philip!

Seeing adults with kids on their bikes always makes my day. Most mornings I see a Dad with a small kid in his bike trailer and the Mum with big kid on a handle bar seat near Bishopsgate and they make me smile every day. Not only for being brave and doing something a bit differently, but also 'cos I like to think those are future cycling enthusiasts being indoctrinated into the fraternity :o)

1st thing: your blog is fantastic :)

She looks wonderful - such style and classic grace with it. This is what I'm hoping to achieve when I'm on my Pashley - Cycle Chic & photographing cyclists while I'm out for my blog :)

Not surprised that she was snapped in Brick Lane - I'm more than aware of the rather fabulous looking cyclists that are in the area when I'm down there.

Cheers for the link to that site.. and will be following your blog also.

Lady Vélo.
