The Word on the Street; it's the Street Talks Christmas party!

Can you believe the end of another exciting year in the cycling world is almost upon us?  Tomorrow we'll be in celebratory mood at the Street Talks Christmas Party with "Word on the Streets"; a series of "bitesize" Street Talks each lasting seven and a half minutes on subjects as diverse as London's canals as people highways, to why we need a revival in hitchhiking.  The talks start at 7PM at Look Mum No Hands bicycle cafe bar on Old Street and all of you are welcome.  There's a licensed bar, lots of opportunities to catch up with friends and to network, and mince pies to boot.

Over the past two years (can it really be so long already?) we've been lucky enough to have an extraordinary range of speakers donate their time and expertise to the Movement for Liveable London.  Here's my top selection of Street Talks from 2011 and 2012 for you to enjoy again. Remember you can catch up again with the entire archive of Street Talks (including mine!) on the Movement for Liveable London website here.

The Energy Glut with Professor Ian Roberts - the politcs of fatness in an overheating world.

Rethinking Childhood with Tim Grill - there's a salmon in my street! The outdoor child as an indicator species of a quality urban environment.

Mimi Mollica - smile your whole day through. Making London a better place in seven minutes of smiles.

Oliver Schulze, previously of Gehl Architects; people first - putting the public back in to the public realm.

See you all tomorrow!
