i b i k e l o n d o n: The back-lit bicycles of Broadway

When the sun makes a rare appearance during these long, dark months I dash out with my camera to try and snap some of London's cyclists, to add to my portfolio of snaps of stylish people on bikes.

With the sun so low in the sky, and shadows cast so long sometimes the conditions are quite challenging, and sometimes they throw up some surprising results. We all know that you shouldn't shoot in to the sun, but I really like the back-lit silhouette-like effect captured in these photos. They help to convey the chilly but bright day that all these cyclists happily cruised through.
