A welcome back to y o u b i k e l o n d o n - the Friday feature for London's everyday and ordinary cyclists. We had a break last week but we're back now bigger and better before and with a new question for our cyclists - after our little rant about City Hall and how they're not talking to the right people about cycle safety we thought we'd ask our lovely Londoners what they'd do to improve the lot of the London cyclist? Check back every Friday for your weekly installment!
Name?
Yona
Age?
25

I live in Shoreditch, ride all over and to work near Liverpool Street.

We call her 'The Lady'! She's got 3 gears, a basket and a ding-dong bell.

Every day.
Helmet or no helmet?
A helmet.
What's your primary reason for cycling?
I use the bike to commute as well as for getting around everywhere.
Least favourite aspect of cycling?
When pedestrians cross or step into the road without looking - it drives me crazy.

Getting places really quickly whilst seeing the world around me.
What advice would you give an aspiring cyclist thinking of cycling in London for the first time?
Try your regular route out in advance on a quiet day when there's less traffic.
And, what could be done to improve the lot of the London cyclist?
Get rid of all the potholes!!

What I'd like to know, Mark, is: what is that lovely bike-riders-stop-to-drink-beer spot along the river?
It looks like quite a party!
Haha! It's Critical Mass London Anne, which is held on the last Friday evening of every month on the South Bank by the river - it's the only place I can guarantee a good mix of cyclists short of pulling people over at traffic lights. I usually do a month's worth of interviews in one go. And yeah, it's a really beautiful spot and has the most incredible views. :o)
