Allez Wiggo! Félicitations Le Gentleman!

If this blog has been a little quiet over the past few weeks it's for one reason in particular...

Allez Wiggo!

Allez Froome!

Allez Cav!

Not everyone has liked the highly team-focused approach of Sky this Tour but I think it's been inspiring to see.  And with only 6 days until the Olympic road race sweeps through our London streets it really does feel as though cycling for sport and for fun is about to have an unprecedented moment here in Great Britain.  Chapeau guys, and congratulations Bradley Wiggins!

Wiggins' win in Le Tour is the latest addition to my joy in cycling. Goes up there with watching Merckx win (and begin my lifelong obsession), with club mate Tony Doyle become world pursuit champ, hearing about local buddy/rival Sean Yates break 20 minutes for 10 miles, Graeme Obree's hour record and, of course, Mark Cavendish's green jersey win in 2011. A British win in the tour was something I never would have believed possible. Thank you, Bradley. You did great

Spot on Phil. You'd be pleased to see the amount of extra coverage Wiggin's victory has been drumming up for Herne Hill Velodrome where he first cut his teeth.

He did indeed do great and for me it vindicated all those lost summers of watching the TdF with no one even remotely near the top of the table from the home country. Yesterday was pay back time!
